- There are many legal obligations for Employer’s operating a PAYE scheme and certain requirements for new employee onboarding.
- This article outlines those requirements and the service offered by Avar.
- There are two levels of service:
- Diamond Service – This is where the entire process is handled by Avar, including employment contract and cradle to grave service involved in the engagement of an employee.
- Premium Service – This is only applicable for calculating monthly, quarterly and yearly payroll and fulfilling the minimum legal obligations.

Employee’s Requirements
- It is important you give the correct information to your new employer so you pay the right amount of tax before they complete their first payroll for you.
- Use the starter checklist (link below) when you start a new job or have been sent to work in the UK, so your new employer can complete their PAYE payroll duties.
- Complete this form which details the requirements.
- Alternatively, you can complete the process online, via the HMRC Website.
- Whichever method is chosen above, you will need to save, print, sign the starter checklist.
- This should be sent to your new employer, along with a copy of your photo ID (passport or driving licence), bank details and other information they may have requested before your start date.
